It is believed that every magic wand chooses its wizard or witch. Wands are both cognitive and sensory instruments, capable of recognizing the wizard’s skills, character, needs, weaknesses, ambitions, and potential. A wizard or witch may buy a wand that has not chosen them, but in that case, they cannot expect it to function properly.
Charles Perrault was the first to describe glass slippers in the 1697 story of Cinderella, “Cendrillon.” Earlier versions of the tale featured the heroine with a magical ring or magical golden, silver, or fur slippers. According to his story, Cinderella wore very tiny slippers, size 34.
Some of the technologies that visionary Jules Verne imagined in his fiction and described in his works have truly become reality. One of them is the Nautilus – an electric submarine from *Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea*, which “came to life” many years after Verne first wrote about it.
